UMSI Meeting: January 10, 2009

I. Discussion about conference
	A. Do we want everyone to attend Regional Meetings?
		-yes. will move this session to take the place of one of the sessions
	B. Session Three will not be in conjunction with the Regional meeting
	C. Sensory Integration
		-is there anyone local who could teach a session?
		-Possibly "OT" here at Bunche; Marolyn contacting
	D. Session Three's presenters will be moved to earlier sessions
	E. Can we add a Heads of School hour?
		-some of them will be regional facilitators, so that might not work
		-Heads of schools will meet from 8:30 - 9:30 for discussion and tour
	F. We do have a bus to take people from Towles to Bunche
		-there will be cluster discussion at both Towles (3:30 - 4:30) and Bunche (3:00 - 3:30)
		-we will need someone to lead/facilitate the discussions and hold an agenda: a Towles teacher will facilitate
			-opening questions:
				1. What are some successes?
				2. What are some challenges
				3. What are the next steps?
	G. Fees
		-did you charge presenters? No. Registration is waived. They will pay for their lunches.
		-UMSI
			-will pay for food
			-will pay for name tags
				- JESSICA: send Marilyn the jpeg of the UMSI logo
			-see the handout for further fee information
			-UMSI will pay for part of the folders if necessary
				-can put an UMSI sticker on the folder: either sponsored in part by/member of
			-memberships last through September 1, 2009
				-will we charge them less? Give them more time on their membership?
				-No. They will need to pay full price.
				-No...if they sign up at the conference, we will take $10 off their conference registration
	H. Areas
		-Regional heads will be meeting
			-large gym: central
			-cafeteria: southern
			-media center: northern
	I. Food
		-breakfast and lunch will be in cafeteria
		-snacks will be served in the quadrant corners of the hallways
	J. Keynote speaker
		-UMSI welcome
			-Sandy: make sure to thank everyone
		-Community welcome
		-Ft. Wayne Schools introduction
		-Key Note
		-Thank yous
		-Keynote address title, "Building a Montessori Community in the Home and Beyond"
	K. Things to Do
		-develop an acceptance letter
		-coat racks
		-add request for idea room to the registration letter
		-will need to add an asterisk to the presenters' names who are also vendors/authors
		-draw attention to the fact that all parents are invited...change made to the invitation	
	L. Gina Logquist
		-has offered CEUs for this conference
		-will need a table
		-ROBIN and SANDY will verify
